Abstract:
The propose of this research is to study the recycle processes to treat the effluent fromactivated sludge wastewater treatment system of slaughterhouse industry. The processes used inthis study are granular activated carbon (GAC), reverse osmosis (RO), andlor strong acid cation(SAC) resin, strong basic anion (SBA) resin, mixed bed (MB) resin and ultraviolet disinfectionsystem.The results of water quality treated by GAC and RO connected in series is suitable forusing in cooling tower, boiler which chemical added to prevent and control scale formation, andthe production process. While the quality of water treated by SAC, SBA and MB was good asthe deminerized water.The operating cost of RO filtration and deminerized water are 5 and 44 baht/m3 whilethe capital cost for 720 m3/day are about 5.9 and 8.2 million bath, respectively.
