Conservation and Development of Silk Weaving Wisdom of Bandunanongphai Silk Weaving Group, Na Nong Phai Sub-district, Chumphonburi District, Surin Province
Abstract:
The research consisted of three main objectives, namely: 1) to study the local wisdom in silk weaving of silk weaving group Bandunanongphai, Nanongphai Sub-district, Chumphonburi District, Surin Province; 2) to investigate ways to conserve and develop silk weaving of silk weaving group Bandunanongphai, Nanongphai Sub-district, Chumphonburi District, Surin Province; and 3. to explore problems and obstacles in conservation and development of silk weaving groups silk weaving Bandunanongphai, Nanongphai Sub-district, Chumphonburi District, Surin Province. It is a qualitative research collecting data by interviewing 33 key informants.
1) Bandunanongphai villagers learn to weave silk in a practical way according to family and social processes. As seeing parents weaving helps to grasp the steps from simple things to find something more difficult gradual depending on childrens ability or maturity, including experience the familys routines with no exact course of instruction. Of course, it is a way of life that is absorbed by parents. Having faced some problems, it is questioned to solve them simultaneously. Besides, there is also a way to learn imitation, have a look at the way of life and practices of parents and grandparents. And also examples of clothes are to be copied; furthermore, mother should tell her daughter what to do, not to do about silk weaving, such as telling to prepare for bleaching, burning shell, dry-spinach and dry-banana leaves to bring ash, filter and boil to clean silk. What is the soft and hot card to make beautiful silk. If it is too hot, it will not tighten up because the hatch is very thick, it does not need to be fixed by adding cold water and light the fire, or at any time to be appropriate, etc. This knowledge has been carefully selected and refined from experience of the older generation, including belief that should be treated conservatively, not to work if there would be a funeral in the village. It may be a mechanism to help each other at times of sadness that is a good thing should be keeped on. Some beliefs change as in Social change.
2) When exploring the guidelines to conserve and develop silk weaving wisdom of Bandunanongphai Silk Weaving Group, Na Nong Phai Sub-District, Chumphonburi District, Surin Province, it was found that the guidelines for the Conservation and Development of Traditional silk weaving house looks Phai achieved by (1) creating a motive to inherit silk weaving to achieve an appropriate job and income residents. This will contribute to improving the quality of life of people for the better (2) inherited by their children or other family members were exposed to continuous weaving both intended and unintended. It is the natural way concerning the relationship of the family and the socialization process by using silk as a tool. Women are ready to complete the community expect.
3) As for problems and obstacles as well as recommendations on the conservation and development of silk weaving wisdom of Bandunanongphai Silk Weaving Group, Na Nong Phai Sub-District, Chumphonburi District, Surin Province, it was recommended that: 1) the concerned agencies should support cognitive skills, materials and equipment to suit your budget; 2) knowledge of the authorities responsible for; 3) mission and urged the authorities. The district featured; 4) promote community enterprise operations management roles in business units where appropriate and to ensure effective; 5) develop a process to cover all aspects; 6) cooperating agency partners nationally until the area 7) Press Knowledge and understanding to those involved.
