Abstract: This thesis was demonstrated the use of the finite element method (Sigma/W Program) in the analysis of behaviour of Diaphragm wall. Three constitutive soio models were wsed for this analysis namely, Linear Elastic-Perfectly Plastic Model,and Camelay Model. The numerical simulation results techniques adopted in the study were compared with the results observed in field. The bellaviour of Diaphragm wall influenced by soil modelling were investigated in term of; inoinent of inertia, deflection, settlement and stress-strain relationship. Thc inflilcnccs of soil paramctcrs, stage of construction, and finite element meshes are also studied. The lateral displacement of diapllragin wall reduced significantly due to the existing of bored pilc prior to excavation. Moreover, by using Linear Elastic-Perfectly Plastic Model and Hyperbolic Model with Failure Ratio (R,. ) = 0.9 for soft clay and stiff clay, the appropriatc ratio between young modulus to shear strength of soil (EuISu) were 250 and 600, respectively. Besides, Poisson's ratio used for cainclay model was 0.30
