A Study of An Approach of Solving the Conflict in Family in Accordance with the Principle of Dhamma in the Community of Khumchang Sub-district, Phonphisai District, Nongkhai Province
Abstract:
The purposes of the research entitled were; 1) to study the principle of Dhamma related to the conflict in Theravada Buddhism 2) to study the context of Thai families from the past to the present and the conflict problems in the present Thai society and 3) to study the approach to solve the conflict in the family in compliance with the principle of Dhamma in Khumchang community, Phonphisai District, Nongkhai Province. This research was the qualitative research by studying the primary data from Tipitaka in series of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya, Commentary, sub-commentary and the second data from the documentaries in Theravada Buddhism, articles, and related researches including field study by interviewing people in the regions and reporting the results of research by descriptive analysis.
The results of research were found that family means the groups of people who have the relationship and to proceed the lives with each other both marriage and heiress. The families have done the duties as the basic institutes to train and take of people in families and to be the core centers of the relative system in society as the important foundation for living. There are a lot of categories. For the Thai society, there are two types, that is, the single family and extended family or big family. If the family is stable, it can lead people to be progressive but in the opposite way, if the family has conflict, it will lead people to the disaster of people, family and society.
From studying the conflict problems of the families in Khumchang community, Phonphisai District, Nongkhai Province, it was found that there are a lot of important problems, that is, 1) the basic conflict in daily living such as the difference in the aspect of habit feature, attitude or personality of each person or problems from the formerly family 2) the problems related to living of the family such as the monetary problems and the personal problems, who do not realize of their own duties that are the middle problems 3) the serious conflict problems of the family such as the divorced problems, unfaithful problems and to have ex-wife or new husband. The serious argument that leads to harm each other or leads to the conflict problems in the family until it cannot control the family to be safety or secure.
While the approach to solve the conflict problems in the family in accordance with the principle of Dhamma in Buddhism can be applied for solving the problems by dividing into various levels, that is, 1) the problems of basic family can be solved by application of the principle of Right View, that is, the right opinion in accordance with the principle of Dhamma, consisting of mindfulness and circumspection, balanced livelihood, application of 4, that is, 1) means to be matched in faith, 2) means to be matched in moral conduct 3) means to be matched in generosity and 4) means to be matched in wisdom including the application of the principle of 4 Basses of Social Solidarities, 2) the problems of the middle family can be solved by applying the principle of the principle of and the principle of 5 for developing the family and 3) the serious problems for the family can be solved with the principle of and 6 for application, that is, the 5 ways for husband to serve his wife, 5 ways for her husband, 5 ways for parents to serve their own children, 5 ways for the children their own parents. In addition, to develop the relationship of people in family can be solved with the Dhamma Practice in accordance with the principle of 4 and means setting oneself in the right way and to keep oneself in good morality of society.
