Abstract:
The research had objectives to study the quality of work life of the personnel of Tha Luang
Sub-district Municipality of Makham District, Chanthaburi Province and to compare the quality of work
life of the personnel categorized by gender, age, education, position, length of employment and average
monthly income. The data were collected from 22 personnel consisting of government officials/
government employees, employed workers and general workers of Tha Luang Sub-district Municipality
of Makham District, Chanthaburi Province. The instrument for data collection was questionnaires. The
statistics used for data analysis consisted of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The findings revealed that the personnel of Tha Luang Sub-district Municipality of Makham
District, Chanthaburi Province had high level of overall quality of work life. The aspect which made
them have thehighest quality of work life was pride in the organization. This was followed by safety in
the workplace, social relations, management style, and career path, stability in the workplace, potential
development and independence respectively. The last aspect was the adequate and fair compensation.
From the analysis of quality of work life of the personnel categorized by gender, age,
educational level, position, length of employment and average monthly income, it was found that female
personnel had better quality of work life than male personnel. Personnel whose age range was 20-30
years had better quality of work life than those belonged to the other age groups. The personnel whose
education was primary education had better quality of work life than those belonged to the other
educational groups. The personnel who were hired by the mission had better quality of work life than
those belonged to the other position groups. The personnel whose length of employment was less than
one year had better quality of work life than those belonged to the other groups. The personnel who had
5,000-10,000 baht average income had better quality of work life than those of the other groups.
