Abstract:
The objectives of the thesis entitled The Role of Community Leaders in People Conflict Management in Rimping Sub-district Municipality, Muang District, Lamphun Province were as follows: 1) to examine the role of community leaders in people conflict management in Rimping sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lammphun province. 2) to compare the role of community leaders in people conflict management in Rimping sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lammphun province classified by personnel factors. 3) to investigate the problems, obstacles and suggestions of the people conflict management in Rimping sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lammphun province. 4) to study the promoting guideline of the role of community leaders according to Sangahavatthu IV in people conflict management in Rimping sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lammphun province along the Buddhist way. This research is mixed research method. The populations and samples were collected from people who live in Rimping sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lamphun province. The samples were 378 people by using Taro Yamanes Table form (Taro Yamane, 1967) with reliability equal to 95%.
The findings of this research were found as follows:
1) The role level of community leaders in people conflict management
in Rimping sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lammphun province was overall at the moderate level in all aspects. When considering in each aspect, it was found
that structure conflict was at the highest level, followed by interest conflict, belief conflict/popularity conflict, data conflict/communication conflict. Relations conflict was at the lowest level.
2) The comparison result of community leaders in people conflict management in Rimping sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lammphun province classified by personal factors, including gender, age, education and occupation was found that when comparison of the role of community leaders in people conflict management. The overall occupation was not different but gender, age and education was significant differences at 0.05 level.
3) The problems, obstacles and suggestions of people conflict management in Rimping sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lammphun province was found that relations conflict about different attitude of people, to overcome behavior, not participate with opposition. Interest conflict about housing loan project it was caused of conflict for loan redundant, borrowers did not pay the loan back. Belief conflict/popularity conflict about different environment state, way of life and popularity resulted misunderstanding between them. Data conflict/communication conflicts about awareness levels of information were different. The suggestions of leaders should advise the correct attitude adjustment, people should reduce their intolerant and talk together, the rules set out conditions for loan project, arrange activity for connecting relations of values, belief. People understood every well and by using stage of the meeting informed information.
4) The promotion guideline of leaders role according to Sangahavatthu IV in people conflict management in Rimping sub-district municipality, Muang district, Lammphun province along the Buddhist way was found that there should apply Sangahavatthu IV, including Dana in interest conflict management, Piyavaca in data conflict management/communication conflict management, Atthacariya in relations conflict management/structure conflict management and Samanattata in belief conflict/popularity conflict.
