Abstract:
The objectives of the research were to study the absorption efficiency of wet scrubber at Sahadharawat Co.Ltd. and to study the optimum operating conditions which cause minimum effectto the production line. The wet scrubber was xonstructed to absorb butyl oxitol (BO) vapor whichused as organic solvents in the metal sheet coating process. Water is used as absorbent. Thisrescarch was xomposed of 2 parts : the first part was the study the absorption system in wet scrubberand the presure of 1.0,1.5 and 2.0 kg/cm2 and effect of BO concentration of water on the absorptionefficiency, We found that the absorption effiency of wet scrubber was 60-100% and decreasedwith operation time and increasing BO concentration. The second part to determine the solubility of BO vapor at temperature 30-70% in laboratory. Itrevealed that the solubility of BO decreased with increasing temperature, and was exothermicreaction of which deltaH was -34.47 kl/mol. A wet scrubber system with water recycle in laboratorywas xonstructed to study the effect of BO vapor flow rate at various water temperature and loadingratios on the solubility of BO vapor. We found that the absorption capacity of butyl oxitol vaporincreased with increasing vapor flow rate, loading ratio and decreasing water temperature. The absorption efficiedncy of water saturated to drop when BO concentrationn in water reached12,000 ppm. BO absorption rate in gas and liquid phases were 1.89x10 5 kg/m 3 (column volume).sand 1.92x10 5 kg/m 3 (water voume).s respectively, The simulation result showed that the wetscrubber systrm was subject to loading ratio 2.5 lit.mกำลัง3. The water should be changed in 3 days.
