Abstract:
The purpose of this research were to study general status and trends in Educational Technology Curriculum for the bechelor degree of the next decade. There were 4 parts of curriculum ; the objectives of the curriculum, structure and content outline, teaching and learning activities and the measurement and evaluation.A group of experts in the study consisted of 20 instructors and administrators from public and private sectors. The instruments used for data collection were a structured interview, a questionnaire , and note-talking. The data were analyzed by mean , median , mode , and interquartile range.The research results were as follows :1.General status of Educational Technology Curriculum for the bachelor degree of the Ministry of the University Affairs would be as follow :1.1 The basic objectives were to emphasize on designing, producing, utilizing, service and the maintenance of the instructional media.1.2 The structure and content outline was founded that the overall credits of : a one-majored of 4-year program would be 143 credit, a one-majored of 2-year program would be 74-80 credits, a two-majored of equal credits of 4-year program would be 145 credits, a major-minored of 4-year program would be 136 credits and a 4-year-minor program would be 140 credits.1.3 Teaching a learning activities consisted of method of teaching theory which would be lecture, discussion and seminar. The instructional media would be transparency, powerpoint, white board, graphic, real objects, model and internet. Method of teaching practice would be lecture, discussion, demonstration, practice, study tour and seminar. The instructional media would be books, graphic real objects, model, white board, video tape, cassette player, and internet.1.4 Measurement and evaluation was aimed at effective, congnitive and psychomotor domains. The measurement and evaluation criteria were divided into 3 parts as follows : the close university would utilize A B C D system while the open university would utilize G P F I and H S U I systems. The measurement and evaluation method consisted of 6 methods as in : 1) Testing, 2) exercising, 3) reporting, 4) projecting, 5) practicing, and 6) learning behavior.2. Trends in educational technology curriculum for the bachelor degree of the next decade would be :2.1 The general objectives of the curriculum would emphasize on the moral, discipline, punctuality, honesty, trusworthy, and deligence of each student. Specific objectives would concentrate on students abilities in producing and designing instructional media.2.2 Structure and content outline would be as follows : 31-40 credits of General Education courses, 21-30 credits of Teaching Profession , 51-60 credits of major courses, 11-15 credits of free electives. The total credits would be in between 110-140 credits. The core courses were divided into 4 groups as in : 1) still picture group emphasized on application of graphic for picture makings, 2) radio and television group would emphasize on production television programs, 3) information technology group would emphasize on computer packages development, and 4) printing group would emphasize on printing design.3. Teaching and learning activities would aim at practical work, with various kinds of instructions After all textbook was at the great level of preference.4. The objectives of measurement and evaluation would be the ability to apply knowledge at the workplace. The porportion between theory and practice would be 40 and 60. Thus it concentrated on practices.
