Abstract:
Proposes of the Study 1. To study the opinions of administrators and teachers in Bangkok Secondary Schools under the Jurisdiction of the Secondary School Division, the Ministry of Education concerning supervisory management in secondary schools. 2. To compare the opinions of administrators and teachers in large schools and medium schools concerning supervisory management in secondary schools. 3. To propose the guide line of supervisory management in secondary schools. Methodology The sample of this study consisted of administrators and teachers in 53 Bangkok Secondary Schools under the Jurisdiction of the Secondary School Division from 104 schools, divided into 39 large schools and 14 medium schools. The total sample was 689 in number; of these, there were 318 administrators and 371 teachers. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire which was constructed in forms of check-list, rating-scale, rank order and open-ended. The questionnaire, divided in to 3 parts: Part I : Status of the sample in this research. Part II : Supervisory tasks which should be done in secondary schools, performers and supervisory activities. Part III : Problems and obstacles which might be occurred in supervisory management in secondary schools. Data were analyzed by using percentage, Mean, standard deviation, frequency, t-test and chi-square. Findings 1. Administrators and teachers in Bangkok Secondary Schools under the Jurisdiction of the Secondary Schools Division agreed with each other in majority concerning supervisory tasks an also performers, main activities and subordinate activities. 2. To compare the opinions of administrators and teachers in Bangkok Secondary Schools under the Jurisdiction of the Secondary School Division was found that: 2.1 Opinions of the sample in large schools and medium schools concerning 8 functions of supervisory tasks were different significantly only 1 function. It was supervisory planning. From 60 items in 8 functions, it was found that the opinions of the sample in large schools and medium schools were different significantly 12 items in supervisory performers in schools, 19 items in main activities and 11 items in subordinate activities. 2.2 Opinions of the administrators and the teachers in large schools concerning 8 functions of supervisory tasks were different significantly 3 functions. They were supervisory planning, systematic instructional management and evaluation. From 60 items in 8 functions, it was found that the opinions of the administrators and the teachers were different significantly 12 items in supervisory performers in schools, 12 items in main activities and 8 items in subordinate activities. 2.3 Opinions of the administrators and the teachers in medium schools concerning 8 functions of supervisory tasks were different significantly 3 functions. They were curriculum, systematic instructional management and extra-service management. From 60 items in 8 functions, it was found that the opinions of the administrators and the teachers were different significantly 7 items in supervisory performers in schools. 4 items in main activities and 1 item in subordinate activities. 3. The guide line in supervisory management of large and medium Bangkok Secondary Schools under the Jurisdiction of the Secondary School Division was not different in majority but it should be studied the opinions of the administrators and the teachers in each school before some items would be implemented.
