Abstract:
In building coDstructon management, it is very important that time-control on work progress andproject expmse-controi closely follow that of the pre-set project schedule and budget plan. In practice,however, wurk progress timioyS and expenwcontrol are monitored separately without common data linkage.In addition, data collection forms that are used to monitor construction progress provide inadequate detailsand are not compatible with those used in the project accounting system,To ensure efficient and adequate project progress reporting system this research study hasproposed a methodofogy that can be used in classifjhg work (Work Breakdown Structure: WBS) andbudget (Cost Breakdown Structure: CBS), The mthodology allows information linkage between WBS andCBS at main category level, main itan level, and work packap level. The method also enables a betterwmparkm of work progress at a more detailed level. Earned Value Concept has been used to assist datacOmpafiSOn with respect to Budget Cost of Work Schedule, Budget Cast of Work Perfornred, Actual Cost ofWork Perfarmed, and its Actual Receive. Forms that are used to collect the necessary data are designed,enabling the application of Earned Value Concept. Example of new form usage, together with data analysis,which fllmmasizes project work progress report are also demonstrated in this study. The proposed projectprogress reporting system can be used in real life practice. The system provides usem indices that canindicate realistic current work status, which then can be used to monitor and adjust work performanceaccording to the plan.
