Abstract:
This study aimed to adapt Lesson 20 of The EAT TeachingNotes, experiment The Adapted EAT Teacher's Guide, Lesson 20 and seewhether it worked appropriately or not as well as the teachers',observers' and students' attitudes towards the adapted teacher's guidewere searched for.The Adapted EAT Teacher's Guide, Lesson 20 was experimentedwith five teachers at RIT, Pitsanulok Campus and RIT, Surin Campus.During the experimental teachings there were two observers whoobserved how the teacher taught and the students learnt. There wereone hundred and forty students in this study. The data gained werefrom three research instruments : the questionnaire, the observationsheet and the semi-structured interviews. The results showed that the components and the organisationof the components provided in the adapted teacher's guide workedappropriately. They assisted the teachers to teach the lessonefficiently and confidently. The subjects involved in the study hadfavorable attitudes towards those two major aspects even though therewere some problems occurred with some suggested activities: thediscussion activity, the activity of guessing the meaning of wordsfrom prefixes, suffixes and context, and the students' presentationactivity. The researcher also found out that only the teacher's guidealone could not assist the teachers in teaching EAT efficiently. There should also be training programs or workshops about teachingmethodology along with the materials and how to adapt/evaluate theguides as well.
