Abstract:
It was found in this study that the tropical orchard in the eastern part of Thailand, was suitable for honey bees collection nectar in the blooming period and it could be the site for industrial beekeeping because of having various plants which bees could collect nectar and pollen. The honey yield of 2 groups of 5 hives in 10 and 16 day time of lime and rumbutan were of 5.48+0.52, 8.27+71.33 and 6.24+1.77, 11.02+2.47 kgs. Per hive, and percent water content were 25.08+1.29 and 25.60+0.46, respectively. Honey bees foraged the flowers all day, there were 3 kinds of honey bees foraging; foraging only pollen, foraging only nectar and foraging both nectar and pollen. Foraging honey bees from Citrus aurantifolia Swingle., Imperata cylinrica Linn., Mimosa pucida Linn., Nephelium lappaceum Linn. and Cocos mucifera Linna. Were 24.99+20.57, 28.73+27.45, 31.08+12.80, 38.15+49.01 and 131.97+64.86 per hour respectively. It was also found that collecting water honey bees were 75.13+47.78 per hour.
