Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the effects of reinforcement through token economy on Thai consonant writing achievement. The subjects were 22 the bilingual pre-school children in Bun Sabarung School, Pattani. All subjects were in Thai Language Readiness Plan during summer time for one month. They were randomly assigned to a control group and an experimental group. Each group included 11 persons. This study used the pre-post test control group experimental design. The two groups were taught through the same method. The experimental group was reinforced by token economy for correct consonant writing on an examination but the control group received nothing. After the treatment, both groups were tested through the Thai consonant writing test designed by the researcher based on the purpose and contents taught. In collecting and analyzing the data, the mean of writing scores from the test, standard deviation, t-test for testing significance of mean differences were used in this study. After the treatment the result indicated that within the experimental group, the mean scores of post-test was significantly more than the mean scores of the control group at the .01 level on the Thai writing test .
