Opinions of supervisors, elementary school administrators, and teachers concerning the conducting of the curriculum implementation in pioneer schools project
Abstract:
1.To study the opinions of supervisors, elementary school administrators, and teachers concerning the conducting and problems of the Elementary Curriculum Implementation in Pioneer Schools Project on its principle, the co-operativeness among the involved personnels and the implementation of the Elementary Curriculum B.E. 2521 2. To compare the opinions among supervisors, elementary school administrators and teachers concerning the conducting and problems of the Elementary Curriculum Implementation in Pioneer schools Project on its principle, the co-operativeness among the involved personnels and the implementation of the Elementary Curriculum B.E. 2521. Procedure : Subjects used in this research are 90 supervisors who are responsible for the project, 180 administrators, and 180 Prathom Suksa 5 teachers from the first group, of the Pioneer Schools. The instruments used are a checklist and a rating scale which are divided into 3 aspects namely, the principle on conducting of the project, the co-operativeness among the involved personnels and . the implementation of the Elementary Curriculum B.E. 2521. The 450 questionnaires were sent out and 381 or 84.67 % were returned. The data analysis are percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation, One-Way Analysis of Variance and Studentized Range Statistics. Research Findings : 1. Concerning the conducting of the Elementary Curriculum Implementation in Pioneer Schools Project,- the supervisors, elementary school administrators', and teachers strongly agree with almost every aspect except the principle on conducting of the project and the Implementation of the Elementary Curriculum B.E. 2521 from which some aspects are agreed moderately and mildly as followings : 1.1 The principle of the project a. Concerning the ideas and principle of the : project the Pioneer Schools should help them by using the usual budget are moderately and mildly agreed by administrators and teachers accordingly. b. Concerning the aid to the schools in project : the teachers-training colleges in that province or near-by should have roles in helping academically the schools in the project, are moderately agreed by the 3 sampling groups. c. Concerning the evaluation of the Pioneer Schools Project ; the evaluating process and the merit announcement are convenient and suitable in using, are moderately agreed by the supervisors. 1.2 The implementation of the Elementary Curriculum B.E. 2521 concerning the instructional materials, both elementary school administrators and teachers agree moderately with the two issues: the schools are well advised in forming themselves instruc¬tional materials by provincial and district supervisors, and schools are helped in training about instructional materials production by their own department or the teacher-training colleges. 2. Concerning the problems in conducting of the Curriculum Implementation in Pioneer Schools Project, generally most of the supervisors, elementary school administrators and teachers agree both mildly and moderately except for its principle and the co¬operativeness among the involved personnels, in which some issues are serious problems as followings : 2.1 The principle of the project ะ without financial support from the '.Department of Curriculum and Instruction Develop¬ment and their own department, the supervisors and administrators find it very problematic. 2.2 The co-operativeness among the involved personnels : without morale support and encouragement, the supervisors and admi¬nistrators find it very problematic. 3. The comparison among the opinions of the supervisors, elementary school administrators and teachers concerning the conducting of the Curriculum Implementation in Pioneer Schools Project in each aspect are as followings: 3.1. The principle of the project concerning the idea and principle, the 3 sampling groups oinions are significantly different at the .05 level except for the school support and the evaluation, in which the opinions are not significantly different. 3.2 The co-operativeness among the involved personnels concerning the co-operation between school and the province, between school-group and school and between administrators and teachers, the 3 sampling groups, opinions are significantly different at the .05 level except for the co- operativeness between the Department of Curriculum and Instruction Development and province or their own department, in which the opinions are' .not significantly different. 3.3 The Implementation of the Elementary Curriculum B.E. 2521 concerning learning activities, instructional materials, and measurement and evaluation, the 3 sampling groups opinions are significantly different at the .05 level except for the understanding of curriculum and curriculum materials, in which' the opinions are not : significantly different. 4. The comparison among the opinions of the supervisors, elementary school administrators, and teachers concerning the problems in conducting of the Curriculum Implementation in Pioneer Schools Project in each aspect are as followingst 4.1 Problems in the principle of the project, the opinions of the 3 sampling groups are not significantly different at the .05 level. 4.2 Problems in the co-operativeness among the involved personnels, the opinions of the 3 sampling groups are significantly different at the .05 level. 4.3 Problems in the implementation of the' Elementary Curriculum B.E. 2521 concerning the understanding of curriculum and curriculum materials, learning activities management, instructional materials, and measurement and evaluation, the opinions of the 3 sampling groups are not significantly different at the .05 level.
