Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the attitudes towards occupational training of the convicted prisoners with different backgrounds in Changwat Pranakorn sri ayutthaya prisons. The sample size of this research was composed of the prisoners in Changwat Pranakorn-sri-ayutthaya's prisons. The instruments used in this research were the questionnaires about prisoners' background and attitudes towards occupational training. The data were analyzed by using percentage, F-test (one way analysis of Variance) and T-test (Scheffe'). Findings : Most of the prisoners were between 20-29 years of age and they did not live in Changwat Pranakorn sri ayutthaya. Their average education level was Prathomsuksa 4. They could read and write the Thai language. Their career was employee whose previous salary was less than 3,000 baht per month. They had 2-6 members in the family. Most of them were single and 72.8 percentage of the prisoners were the first imprisoned. The careers of their parents were farmers, gardeners, .and merchants with an average income of 4,000-5,000 baht per month. Most of them did not agree on the income from the dividend because it cannot support the family. However, the prisoners' attitude towards occupational training in admitting the teachers' ability was not statistically significant difference but the value of occupational training and both of the attitudes were statistically significant difference at the .05 level. The prisoners who selected different occupational trainings had statistically difference attitudes towards occupational training in admitting the teachers' ability and value of occupational training, and both of the attitudes.
