Abstract:
The purposes of making this research are to study the content of comic books translated from Japanese during the period of 1987-1988, and to study interest and behavior of the secondary school students in reading such comic books. The results of the research are as follows: 1. After the studying of the content of comic books translated from Japanese, it is found that most of the content concerns love. 2. After the studying of interest and behavior of the secondary school students in reading comic books translated from Japanese, it is found that the students like to read comic books because they are amusing and exciting. Most of the students buy their own comic books considering the title and synopsis, and the cover. They prefer buying comic books costing 11-15 baht from book stall near their schools. The students feel indifferent to comic magazines but they like to read comic books in series. The most popular genre among the students in humor. At home, the students will read an uncertain number of comic books in their free time. In surveying those who prohibit the students to read the comic books, it is found that few do it. The students will keep all their comic books after they finish reading. Additionally, what the students require comic books to be improved most are alphabet-writing and descriptions. Other matters are genre, pictures, language and format respectively.
