Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study: 1) the level of academic administration in small-sized schools under the Office of Chachoengsao Educational Service-Area 1 2) the level of the quality of students in small-sized schools under the Office of Chachoengsao Educational Service-Area 1 3) the relationship between the academic administration and the quality of students in small-sized schools under the Office of Chachoengsao Educational Service-Area 1, and 4) academic administration affecting the quality of students in small-sized schools under the Office of Chachoengsao Educational Service-Area 1. The sample was comprised of 165 administrators and teachers under small-sized schools under the Office of Chachoengsao Educational Service-Area 1. The tool used for data collection was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The results of the study were as follows:
1) Academic administration in small sized schools under the Office of Chachoengsao Educational Service-Area 1, as a whole, was at a high level. Each aspect of academic administration was put in descending order, based on average score, as follows: learning measurement and evaluation, curriculum development, technology development and application, educational supervision, learning resources development, respectively.
2) The quality of students in small-sized schools under the Office of Chachoengsao Educational Service-Area 1, as a whole, was at a high level. Each aspect of the quality of students was put in descending order, based on average score, as follows: good physical and mental health, curiousity in learning and continuous learning, academic achievement, morality, and capabilities in thinking and performing, respectively.
3) Academic administration positively correlated with the quality of students in small-sized schools under the Office of Chachoengsao Educational Service-Area 1 at the highest level, and at the .05 level of statistical significance.
4) Academic administration affected the students quality in small-sized schools under the Office of Chachoengsao Educational Service-Area 1 in 4 aspects, namely: curriculum development, learning resources development, learning measurement and evaluation, and technology development and application. These variables could jointly predict the students quality at the 92% level of accuracy, and at the .05 level of statistical significance. It could be written as an equation in the form of standardized scores as follows: Z´y = .652X1+.551X3+.361X2+.208X5
