Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to analyze science technology content in six lower secondary school science textbooks. The research instrument employed in this study was the specification table which classified the content of science and technology according to its levels and the field of science. The obtained data were analyzed by means of frequency and percentage. The results of the study were summarized as follows: 1. In the six science textbooks for the lower secondary school, science and technology content concerning knowledge and understanding of technology appeared the most which was 54.26 percent, the content promoted student to think, improved, maintain and construct the useful things appeared 37.52 percent and the science and technology content concerning skill in technology application appeared 10.12 percent. 2. When classifying the science and technology content in the six science textbooks according to the field of science, science and technology content on physics appeared the most which was 44.85 percent, science and technology content on biology appeared 30.19 percent and science and technology content on chemistry appeared 24.96 percent.
