Abstract:
The purpose of this crosssectional descriptive research was to study the quality of life and preparing for quality aging society of Registered nurses in private hospital, Bangkok Metropolis. The sample consisted of 165 registered nurses aged 40 years or more. Data collection using questionnaires consisted of 4 parts such as demographic, social support, quality of life and preparing for quality aging questionnaire. Statistical method used in data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test (one way ANOVA), Pearsons correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis. Major findings were as follows: Most of the registered nurses (74.5%) had the quality of life as moderate level.Preparing for quality aging was at moderate level in all aspects; mental health, financial, role in the family, physical health, leisure time spending and accommodation.Educational level and job position were significantly associated with the quality of life of registers nurses in private hospital (p<0.05). There were positively significant correlation between quality of life and Social support; emotional support from team leader (r=0.444), friend/co-worker and family(r=0.462), and family(r=0.281), social support about information aspect from friend/co-worker (r=0.214) and social support for resources from team leader(r=0.442) , friend / co-worker(r=0.562) and family(r=0.432) and it was also found the correlation with preparing for quality aging in physical health (r=0.512) mental health (r=0.383), financial (r=0.472), accommodation (r=0.324), role in family (r=0.353) and leisure time spending (r=0.370). Variables that significantly predicted quality of life of registered were social support for resources from friends/co-worker, family, team leader , emotional support from team leader, preparing for quality aging in physical health, financial, and accommodation (r2=0.593,p<0.01).
