Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to compare anddetermine the relationship of morale and working efficiency between nursing staffs and nursing instructors in 7 teaching hospitals. The samples were 253 nursing staffs and 87 nursing instructors. The instrument composed of 3 forms of questionnaires: 1. A form concerning morale of nursing staffs and nursing instructors, its reliability was .88 and .98 respectively. 2. A form concerning working efficiency of nursing staffs, evaluated by the head nurse, its reliability was .90. 3. A form concerning working efficiency of nursing instructors, evaluated by the departments head, its reliability was .95. Mean, Standard deviations, Single classification analysis of variance, Two-way classification analysis of variance, multiple comparison procedure by Nerman-Keuls test, and Spearmans rank-difference correlation were used. The result was as follow: - 1. Both groups of nursing staffs and nursing instructors have morale at moderate level. 2. There was statistically significant difference in morale between nursing staffs and nursing instructors comparing among hospitals, however there was no statistically significant difference in all aspects of morale combined. 3. There was statistically significant difference in morale between groups of nursing staffs and nursing instructors; however there was no statistically significant difference in all aspects of morale combined. 4. The working efficiency of nursing staffs was at high level. 5. There was statistically significant difference in working efficiency of nursing staffs comparing among hospitals at .01 level. 6. The working efficiency of nursing instructors was at moderate level. 7. There was statistically significant difference in working efficiency of nursing instructors comparing among institution at .05 level. 8. There were no relationships between morale and working efficiency of nursing staffs and nursing instructors at .05 level.
