Abstract: วัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัย มี 3 ประการ คือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาลักษณะเฉพาะของนักเรียนเตรียมทหารที่เข้าใหม่ ในปีการศึกษา 2526 โดยศึกษาในลักษณะเฉพาะทั้ง 5 ด้าน ของแต่ละเหล่า ได้แก่ ด้านข้อมูลเฉพาะในฐานะเป็นนักเรียนเตรียมทหาร การศึกษาในระดับมัธยม แผนการศึกษาและอาชีพ ภูมิหลังของครอบครัวและความคิดเห็นทั่วไป 2) เพื่อสร้างภาพรวมด้านคุณลักษณะทั้ง 5 ด้าน ของนักเรียนเตรียมทหาร ทั้ง 4 เหล่า 3) เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบภาพรวมด้านคุณลักษณะทั้ง 5 ด้าน ของนักเรียนเตรียมทหาร ทั้ง 4 เหล่า วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย ได้แก่ ประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ นักเรียนเตรียมทหาร ปีการศึกษา 2526 ซึ่งมีจำนวนประชากรทั้งหมด 916 คน ได้รับแบบสอบถามคืน 798 ฉบับ หรือคิดเป็นร้อยละ 87.22 เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย เป็นแบบมาตราวัดลักษณะเฉพาะของนักเรียนเตรียมทหารที่เข้าใหม่ ซึ่งมีส่วนประกอบ 5 ตอน คือ ตอนที่ 1 เป็นข้อมูลเฉพาะในฐานะเป็นนักเรียนเตรียมทหาร ตอนที่ 2 ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับการศึกษาในระดับมัธยมศึกษา ตอนที่ 3 แผนการศึกษาและอาชีพ ตอนที่ 4 ภูมิหลังของครอบครัว ตอนที่ 5 ความคิดเห็นทั่วไป การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ใช้วิธีหาค่าร้อยละ ค่าไคสแควร์ การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวน การเปรียบเทียบรายคู่โดยวิธีเชฟเฟ่ สรุปผลการวิจัย คือ จากการวิจัยได้พบว่า 1) ภาพรวมด้านคุณลักษณะทั้ง 5ด้าน ของนักเรียนเตรียมทหารทั้ง 4 เหล่า สรุปได้ดังนี้ คือ นักเรียนเหล่าทหารบก มีอายุ 19 ปี และเป็นบุตรทหารตำรวจ บิดา มารดา มีความรู้ระดับประถมศึกษา เป็นนักเรียนจบมาจากโปรแกรมวิทยาศาสตร์ ส่วนใหญ่มาจากจังหวัดในภาคกลาง มีผลการเรียนอยู่ในระดับปานกลางและค่อนข้างต่ำ ไม่เคยเป็นผู้นำในกลุ่มเพื่อน แต่มีความสนใจเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมของโรงเรียน เมื่อสำเร็จการศึกษาแล้วคิดจะศึกษาต่อแต่ยังไม่ได้วางแผนการศึกษาแน่นอนมีความตั้งใจที่ออกรับราชการชายแดน และทำประโยชน์เพื่อส่วนรวมมากที่สุด นักเรียนเหล่าทหารเรือ มีอายุ 20 ปี และเป็นบุตรทหารและตำรวจ บิดามารดามีความรู้ระดับประถมศึกษา เป็นนักเรียนจบจากโปรแกรมวิทยาศาสตร์ทั้งหมด ส่วนใหญ่มาจากจังหวัดในภาคกลาง มีผลการเรียนอยู่ในระดับปานกลางและค่อนข้างสูง เมื่อจบการศึกษาแล้วพอใจที่จะรับราชการอยู่ในจังหวัดใหญ่ๆ มีความตั้งใจที่จะศึกษาต่อ แต่ยังไม่ได้วางแผนการศึกษาแน่นอน นักเรียนเหล่าทหารอากาศ มีอายุ 20 ปีมากที่สุด และเป็นบุตรทหารตำรวจและพ่อค้าหรือนักธุรกิจ บิดามารดามีความรู้ระดับประถมศึกษา เป็นนักเรียนจบโปรแกรมวิทยาศาสตร์ ส่วนใหญ่มาจากจังหวัดในภาคกลาง มีผลการเรียนอยู่ในระดับปานกลางค่อนข้างต่ำ เมื่อจบการศึกษาแล้วพอใจที่จะรับราชการในจังหวัดใหญ่ มีความตั้งใจจะทำประโยชน์เพื่อส่วนรวมบ้าง นักเรียนเหล่าตำรวจ มีอายุ 19 ปี และเป็นบุตรทหารตำรวจบิดามารดามีความรู้ระดับประถมศึกษา เป็นนักเรียนจบจากโปรแกรมวิทยาศาสตร์ ส่วนใหญ่มาจากจังหวัดในภาคกลาง มีผลการเรียนอยู่ในระดับปานกลางค่อนข้างสูง เมื่อจบการศึกษาแล้ว ตั้งใจจะศึกษาต่อด้านการปกครอง และมีความตั้งใจที่จะทำประโยชน์เพื่อส่วนรวมอย่างแน่นอน แต่ต้องการรับราชการในกรุงเทพมหานคร 2) การศึกษาเปรียบเทียบลักษณะเฉพาะ ทั้ง 5 ด้านของนักเรียนเตรียมทหาร ทั้ง 4 เหล่า 2.2) การเปรียบเทียบลักษณะเฉพาะทั้ง 5 ด้าน พบว่า มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .01 ในเรื่องอายุของนักเรียนเตรียมทหาร คือ นักเรียนเหล่าทหารบกและเหล่าตำรวจมีอายุ 19 ปีเท่ากัน แต่นักเรียนเหล่าทหารเรือและเหล่าทหารอากาศ มีอายุ 20 ปี นักเรียนส่วนใหญ่เลือกศึกษาในเหล่าเดียวกับบิดาของตน นอกจากนักเรียนเหล่าทหารเรือมีบิดาเป็นทั้งทหารบกและทหารเรือ มารดาของนักเรียนเหล่าทหารบก เหล่าทหารเรือและเหล่าตำรวจเป็นแม่บ้าน นอกจากนักเรียนเหล่าทหารอากาศ มีมารดาประกอบอาชีพค้าขายหรือทำธุรกิจส่วนตัว เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกันในระหว่างเหล่ามีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 นักเรียนเหล่าทหารบกและเหล่าตำรวจชอบวิชาคณิตศาสตร์ ส่วนนักเรียนเหล่าทหารอากาศและเหล่าทหารเรือ ชอบวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกันในระหว่างเหล่ามีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกันในเรื่องคะแนนเฉลี่ยเมื่อเปรียบเทียบกันในเรื่องคะแนนเฉลี่ยมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย พบว่า คะแนนของนักเรียนเหล่าทหารบกและเหล่าทหารอากาศมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยสูงกว่านักเรียนเหล่าทหารเรือและเหล่าตำรวจ โดยแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 ในด้านแผนการศึกษาในอนาคต นักเรียนเหล่าตำรวจเหล่าเดียวที่มีแผนการศึกษาแน่นอน ต่างจากนักเรียนอีก 3 เหล่า อย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .01 นักเรียนเหล่าทหารเรือและเหล่าทหารอากาศต้องการรับราชการในจังหวัดใหญ่ส่วนนักเรียนเหล่าทหารบกต้องการรับราชการที่อยู่ในกรุงเทพมหานคร 2.2) ในการเปรียบเทียบนักเรียนเตรียมทหารทั้ง 4 เหล่า พบว่ามีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 ในเรื่องคะแนนสอบเข้าภาควิชาการ คือ นักเรียนเหล่าทหารเรือ มีคะแนนสูงกว่านักเรียนเหล่าตำรวจ เหล่าทหารบกและเหล่าทหารอากาศ

Abstract: 1. To study the characteristics of the entering students in the year 1983, studying 5 aspects of each force, to study them as the Armed Forces cadets, secondary school information, educational and vocational plan, family background and general outlooks 2. To construct a profile of 5 aspects of characteristics of the cadets. 3. To compare the profile of the Armed Forces cadets in each force. Methodology Population used for this research were the Armed Forces cadets in the year 1983, consisted of 916 cadets and 87.22 percent of the data were returned. The instrument was a special questionnaire for the Armed Forces cadets, consisting of : The Armed Forces cadets background, The second part was about secondary school information, the third part was educational and vocational plan, the fourth part was family background and the fifth part was general outlooks. The data were analyzed by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). System showed percentage, Chi- square, analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Sheffe's method. Findings The findings of the study can be summed up as follows: Cadets in the army force were nineteen years old and their fathers were in the military service. Their parents were educated from elementary schools. The Cadets were from science programs and from the central provinces of Thailand. Their grades were between mid and midlow levels. They had never been the leaders among their groups but they were interested in school activities. Having finished studying, they would continue their study with no planning. They inteaded to go to the border to fight for the country and worked for the public. Naval cadets were twenty years old. Their father were in the military and police service. Their parents were educated from elementary schools. They were all from science programs and from the central provinces of Thailand. Their grades were between mid and mid-high levels Having finished studying, they wanted to work in the big cities and some intended to study more but without specific planning. Air Force cadets were twenty years old. Their fathers were in the military service and some ran business. Their parents were educated from elementary schools. The Air Force cadets were from science programs and from the central provinces of Thailand. Their grades were between mid and mid-low levels. Having finished studying, they intended to work in the big cities and also work for the public. Police cadets were nineteen years old. Their fathers were in the military and police service. Their parents were educated from elementary school. The Police cadets were from the central provinces of Thailand. Their grades were between mid and mid high levels. Having finished studying, They would continue the study in a field of political science, they were certanity interested to work for public and being in Bangkok. 2.In comparison among the four forces: 2.1 It was found that the Army cadets and Police cadets were 19 years old but Naval cadets and Air Force cadets were 20 years old and they were significant difference at .01 level. Most of the cadets decided to be in the same force as their fathers' except Naval cadets were the sons of military and navy fathers. The Army cadets, Naval cadets and Police cadets' mothers were housewives except the Air Force cadets' mothers ran business. In comparison between the four forces, there were significant difference at .05 level. The Cadets and the Police Cadets enjoyed studying mathematics but the Air Force cadets and the Naval cadets enjoyed studying sciences. When comparing among four forces, there were significant diffe¬rence at .05 level. In comparison among grade point averages in the secondary school, it was found that the Army cadets and Air Force cadets had higher grades than Naval and Police cadets. There were significant difference at .05 level. As for educa“ tional plan, only Police cadets had a certain plan. There were significant difference at .01 level. Naval and Air Force cadets wanted to work in big cities, but the Army cadets wanted to go to th« border and Police cadets wanted to work in Bangkok. 2.2 In comparison among four forces, it was found that there was a significant difference at .05 level in entering raw scores in academic field. The Naval cadets had higher scores than the other three forces.
