Abstract:
To study the effects of encounter group on self-concepts of physically handicapped students in Sri Sangwal School. The hypothesis was that the experimental group who participated in encounter group would increase their self-concepts higher than the control group who did not participate in encounter group. The sample was 16 physically handicapped students studying in Mathayom 1-2 in Sri Sangwal School. Subjects were randomly assigned to an experimental group and control group, each group comprising 8 students. The encounter group program included eight sessions, met twice a week for one and a half hours per session. Tennessee Self Concept Scale and Acceptance of Disability Scale- were enployed to assess self-concepts of the subjects, Pretest-Posttest control group design was assigned as research design and statistical procedure. The hypothesis wa3 tested by t-test at the .05 level of Significance. The Statistical analysis, indicated that no significance differences between the gain s-cores of the two group.
