Abstract:
The objective of this research was to study the factors influencing management success of Thailand National Sports Association. This study was conducted by exploring the causal relationship of various factors influencing management success of the sports association. The sample was 400 managers, team managers/ vice team managers, trainers/ vice trainers and athletes from 33 sports associations under the National Olympic Committee of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King. The samples were divided into 5 groups of 80 people, according to the levels of success of sports associations, including excellent, very good, good, moderate and fair management levels of sports associations. The research instrument was questionnaire about the factors influencing management success of National Sports Association developed by the researcher. The 10 factors in the management of sports associations were studied to determine their causal relationship of various factors influencing management success of sports associations by path analysis. The results of this study showed that the management success of sports associations was influenced by 10 factors: Personal, Management, Budget, Structural Organizations, Support, Sports Science and Technology, Competition Management, Law and Regulation, Facility, and Athletes Development. Moreover, the relationship between Athletes Development and the success of sports associations was at highest level. The sports associations have encouraged athletes to be trained for developing their knowledge, ability, skills and experience of organizational management and enhancing sports knowledge. Besides, the sports associations have submitted athletes to participate in competition to develop their skills, ability, and competitive experience. Sports development plans have been systematically formulated according to sports associations requirement. Direct experiences from athletes and the competition have been gained.
