Abstract:
The purpose of the research was to compare the moral concepts of kindergarten children taught by stories and games. The experiment was conducted by using 40 the second level kindergarten children of Anuban Sribamrung School, Yala Province. The kindergarten children were divided into two experimental groups and were matched by pair according to the pre-test scores. The first experimental group was taught by using stories. The second experimental group was taught by using games. The moral concepts which were taught by using stories and games namely ; honesty, responsibility, discipline, generosity, unity, kindness. After the treatment, both groups were tested and retested 2 weeks after the first test for the comparison of moral concepts and learning retention. The data were then analyzed by mean of t-test. The results of this study indicated that (1) after the treatment, both groups had the mean scores of post-test and the mean scores of pre-test are significantly different at the .05 level. (2) The moral concepts of kindergarten children taught by using stories and games are not significantly different at the .05 level. (3) The learning retention of kindergarten children taught by using stories and games are not significantly different at the .05 level.
