Job satisfaction in community development of teachers at the community secondary school under the jurisdiction of General Educaiton Department in educational region nine
Abstract:
Purposes of the Study 1.To study the level of job satisfaction in community development of teachers at the Community Secondary School Project in Educational Region 9. 2.To compare job satisfaction in community development according to different variables of sex, age, years in service, educational degree, marital status and domicile. Procedures The population of this research consisted of 370 teachers at the Community Secondary School Project in educational region 9. They were randomly drawn from three provinces: Loei, Khonkean and Udorntani. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire composing of 8 factors which affect the job satisfaction of teachers. They are: 1.School policy and administration in community development 2.nature of work in community development 3.working condition 4.responsibility in community development 5.recognition 6.advancement 7.achievement of community development 8.interpersonal relationship with peers and superiors, The questionnaire was of the checklist and rating scale. Three hundred seventy questionnaires were distributed, and three hundred fifty completed copies (94.59 %) were returned. The data were analysed by using percentage, arithmatic mean standard deviation and t-test. Research Findings 1.The factors affecting job satisfaction of the teachers in the Community Secondary School Project at high level were recognition, interpersonal relationship with peers and superiors, and working condition of community development. 2.The factors affecting job satisfaction of the teachers in the Community Secondary School Project at a moderate level were responsibility of community development, nature of work in community development, and achievement in community development. 3.The factors affection job satisfaction of the teachers in the Community Secondary School Project at a low level were school policy and administration of community development, and advancements. 4.The job satisfaction between male and female were found statistically significant at .05 on the following factors: nature of work in community development , responsibility in community development, recognition, advancement, achievement of community development, and interpersonal relationship with peers and superiors. The other factors were not significantly different. 5.The job satisfaction between 20-29 years old and thirty or more years old were found statistically significant at .05 on the following factors: school policy and administration of community development, recognition and achievement of community development. The other factors were not significantly different. 6.The job satisfaction between those officers who had worked under five years and for over five years were found statistically significant at .05 on the following factors: school policy and administration of community development, responsibility in community development, recognition, advancement, achievement of community development and interpersonal relationship with peers and superviors. The other factors were not significantly different . 7. The job satisfaction between those who had degree lower than a Bachelors degree and those who had a Bachelors degree or higher were found statistically significant at .05 on the following factors: nature of work in community development and advancement. The other factors were not significantly different. 8.The job satisfaction between those who were single and who got married were found statistically significant at .05 on the following factors: responsibility of community development, advancement and interpersonal relationship with peers and superiors. The other factors were not significantly different. 9.The job satisfaction between hometown teachers and non-hometown teachers were found statistically significant at .05 on the following factors: school policy and administration of community development , advancement and interpersonal relationship with peers and superiors. The other factors were not significantly different.
