Abstract:
Nowadays, people spend most of their times in buildings, which makes us aware of indoor
air quality and our health. This research was conducted in conjunction with an air ventilation
system in the room with the air conditioning in order to achieve air quality according to be Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design. The research was conducted in a classroom with four ventilation systems to determine the types pass those standards. The system which we recommend will create better air qualities classrooms in terms of carbon dioxide, dust, wind speed, temperature, and
humidity while uses minimal energy of air conditioning and ventilation systems. The results of
the study showed that the recommended system is a fresh air intake pass through three layers of
filters without installing an exhaust fan in a room. This system could reduce carbon dioxide levels
from 1000 ppm to 800 ppm within 40 minutes. It can also reduce dust particles smaller than 2.5
microns for 46% and particles smaller than 10 microns 52%. However, there is additional energy
consumption required for air conditioning and ventilation system about 62% in order to achieve
better indoor air quality.
