Abstract:
Purposes 1. To compare the moral concepts of Prathom Suksa Treee student by three kinds of upbringing: democratic, neglecting and over-protection students. 2. To compare the moral concepts of Prathom Suksa Three students according to levels of parents' educational background. Procedures The samples were 389 Prathom Suksa Three students in elementary schools under the jurisdiction of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, academic year 1985, and their parents. The sampling method was multistage sampling, The instruments used in this research were Moral Concepts Test and Parents' Rearing Patterns Test. The data was analyzed by using One-Way Analysis of Variance and F-test. Finding 1. The moral concepts were analyzed in 8 aspects according to 3 kinds of rearing patterns. It was found that there were no significant difference in the following moral concepts :- responsibility, discipline, generosity, kindness, honesty, justice and patience. However, the children with democratic upbringing patterns students had higher moral concept of unselfishness than the students with over- protection upbringing at the significant level of .05. According to the levels of parents' educational background there were no significant differences In 6 aspects of the moral concepts : responsibility, generosity, kindness, honesty justice and patience, However, the students who had parents with educational background higher than secondary level had higher moral concepts of discipline and unselfishness than the students who had parents with educational background at elementary level at the significant level of .05.
