Abstract:
This research aimed to study the language and culture in folk songs, Chaloem Phra Kiat district
Nakhon Ratchasima province. The findings revealed that six categories: as 1) Lullaby 2) play singing music
3) children's activities songs 4) vocals screed 5) adults activities songs and 6) ritual songs. The language
used to sing, mostly in vernacular Korat. The use of figurative language was endemic and demonstrating
the culture of the language. The use of the language and culture in music mainly generated imagery
to reader. A simple majority of the language and songs had a words of love, lives, beliefs, traditions,
religious and principle of faith. Singer used a song as a tool to teach. They are made a good melody
to listen and make the audience understand a deep meaning better. The study of folk songs revealed the lifestyle, different wisdom of local people in
terms of the Buddhist faith, which was the anchor
for the soul. Most content was music to entertain
a guests and the song was originally to maintain
social sustainability in the future.
