Abstract:
The study entitled "Development of exporting fresh pineapple to Singapore of Thai entrepreneurs" attempts to study problem conditions of entrepreneurs exporting fresh pineapples in Thailand, to develop process to export fresh pineapple to Singapore, and to investigate marketing strategy to export fresh pineapple to Singapore. The research instrument was in-depth interview passing validity test. In this qualitative study, there were 12 target key informants to study and collect the data for analysis. The findings in Part One - the problem conditions reveal that internal browning of Thai pineapples could cease the export to the countries that take quite a long time for transportation as well as cost reduction of pineapple - accurate planting should encourage production to reach higher volume of per rai. It was found from Part Two -development of exporting process e.g. no transparency in product inspection process for government sector, they should facilitate channel to deliver product accurately and safely as well as problem in land transportation which is the principle means of transportation, the government should accelerate improvement project to expand Pet Kasem Sai Tai Road to encourage the faster delivery. The study on Part Three - marketing strategy for export - the promotion to establish value of product should be encouraged in order to create the advantage and the use of creativity to establish uniqueness of product to be able to set their own price. The development of their own plant varieties, for example, or planting pineapple type MD2, etc. could add more alternatives for farmers. For exporting factor, new farmer or exporters should indirectly export via agencies who expert in trading with other countries and should directly export without mediator for initiating business even it may cost higher than indirect export. When concerning with long-term business, it might be better in several factors.
