Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to study the factors influencing the development of
learning organization of Burapha University, Sakaeo Campus, to evaluate the outcomes of being a
learning organization, and to provide helpful suggestions for improving the learning organization
and making preparations for the ASEAN community. This research was a combination of
quantitative and qualitative research. As for the quantitative part, the questionnaire was used as a
tool for data collection. The respondents were 72 of administrators, lecturers and academic staff,
and 300 of students. The statistics for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation and
correlation. As for the qualitative part, the received information was analyzed by content analysis.
The results indicated that the factors having an influence on learning organization
development were personal ability, team learning, organizational culture which promoted learning,
leadership, shared vision, openness to the surrounding environment, information and
communication technology for learning. All factors mentioned above had a high level of influence
on learning organization development. In addition, there was no difference between the staff and the
student groups. For the staff group, the overall average of factors influencing the learning
organization was 4.37 with a standard deviation of 0.703. The most influential factor was the
personal ability while the least influential factor was leadership. For the student group, the overall
average was 4.01 with a standard deviation of 0.660. The most influential factor for this group was
team learning, and openness to the surrounding environment was the least influential factor.
The results received from learning organization development were satisfaction of student
and staff, learning outcomes, and outcomes of preparations for the ASEAN community. The resultalso showed that the outcome of being organization of learning was found at a high level. However,
there was no difference between the staff and the student groups. For the staff group, the overall
average was 4.21 with a standard deviation of 0.833, and the most influential factor was the
satisfaction in their work. For the student group the overall average was 4.02 with a standard
deviation of 0.705, and the most influential factor was learning. The least influential factor was the
preparations for the ASEAN community in both groups. Personal factor which affected the
operation of learning organization was duration of employment. The factors having an influence on
learning organization development had a positive relationship with the outcomes received from
learning organization development at a high level, and there was no difference between both groups.
