Development of Teaching Model for Improving Home Visit Skills for Bedridden People of Third Year Community Public Health Students, Sirindhorn College of Public Health Phitsanulok
Abstract:
The purpose of this research and development was to develop the teaching model for improving
home visit skills for bedridden people of 43 third year students in community public health in 2015. The research
can be divided into 4 phases; (1) the study of basic data for creating teaching model, (2) teaching model
creation, (3) trying out and evaluating the teaching model, and (4) teaching model improvement. The data were
collected by using group discussion, deep interview, test and behavior observations. The data were analyzed
and described by using percent, average, standard deviation, independent t-test and content analysis.
The result found that teaching model for improving home visit skills for bedridden people composes
of 7 components. They are 1) basic concept, 2) principle, 3) objective, 4) teaching step, 5) content, 6) evaluation
and 7) applying of teaching model. The result reveals that students have more knowledge significantly than
that knowledge before intervention support (t = 12.24; p< 0.001) and student possesses home visit skills for
bedridden people in good level along with highest satisfaction in teaching model. People receiving home visit
shows the highest level of satisfaction. The result of teaching model improvement is also satisfied in high level
by experts. The teaching model can be used for improving home visit teaching of bedridden people.
