Abstract:
This independent study aims to 1) study the consumers behavior in consuming vegetarian food and the demand for vegetarian food delivery during the vegetarian festival of consumers in Muang district of Suratthani. 2) study the factors related to the consumption behavior of vegetarians and the demand for vegetarian food delivery during the vegetarian festival of consumers in Muang district of Suratthani. The questionnaire was collected from 400 consumers in Muang district of Suratthani Province. Data were analyzed using SPSS statistical program for frequency, percentage, mean, chi-square statistic at significance level of 0.05.
The findings indicated that most of the samples were female aged between 30-49 years, working in government / state enterprises / company employees. Monthly incomes ranged from 10,001 to 20,000 baht, and the number of family members was two to three people. Consumers consumed rice and curry preferably in spicy taste. The major source of food was Jay Tom Restaurant followed by Wa Wa Restaurant, Nong Jum Restaurant and Jay Hong Restaurant, respectively. The majority of these consumers have attended the festival for vegetarian food consumption for 1 - 3 years, and practiced by eating vegetarian food for food choice twice daily for 9 days, mainly between 10.01 a.m. and 4 p.m. The decision was made by themselves. The demand for food delivery service was found on rice with curry during 10.01 a.m. 4 p.m. to the work places, which were mainly located around the Seangpet intersection - Chakkasem Road areas. The current delivery time was less than 10 minutes, with the cost for delivery service of less than 100 baht. The delivery service was needed because of the long distance to the restaurant.
Most of the samples were highly influenced by psychological factors, both on motivation and values items. Social factors in the reference group were at a moderate level. The factors of culture and traditions at high level.
Results of hypothesis testing revealed that: 1) personal factors correlated with the consumption behavior of vegetarian food and the demand for vegetarian food delivery during the vegetarian festival of consumers in Muang district of Suratthani. 2) Psychological, social, cultural and traditional factors correlated with the consumption behavior of vegetarian food and the demand for vegetarian food delivery during the vegetarian festival of consumers in Muang district of Suratthani.
