Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to study the level of the learning organization of operator at Fabrinet Company Limited, 2) to study the level of improvement of waste reduction of manufacturing process of operator at Fabrinet Company Limited, 3) to study influence of learning organization toward improving level of waste reduction in manufacturing process of operator in Fabrinet Company Limited. The sample groups for this research study are worker in the operating level of Fabrinet Company Limited. All 339 operators for the study were chosen through multi-stage sampling. Data were collected by using a questionnaire with the validity value of 0.97 while the reliability value of Cronbachs alpha coefficient of 0.947. The data collected were analyzed by using descriptive statistic, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The study results revealed as follows: 1) The learning organization of operator in Fabrinet Company Limited as an overall was proven to be high level. Personal mastery was at the highest average score. Mental models, team learning and shared vision were at the lower average score respectively. Systems thinking were at the lowest average score. 2) Level of the learning organization toward improving the waste reduction in manufacturing process of operator in Fabrinet Company Limited as an overall was proven to be high level. Waste of defects was at the highest average score. Waste of overproduction, unnecessary movement, excess inventory, waiting and unnecessary transportation were at the lower average score respectively. Waste of over-processing was at the lowest average score. 3) The learning organization influenced toward the improvement of waste reduction in manufacturing process of operator in Fabrinet Company Limited at a 0.05 statistically significant levels. The factor of learning organization which significantly influenced toward improving the waste reduction in all 7 types of waste was a shared vision. This factor of learning organization could predict improvement of waste reduction in manufacturing process by 10 %. From this study, the results could be used to develop the improvement of waste reduction in manufacturing process of operator in Fabrinet Company Limited efficiently through building the learning organization.
