The effect of organizational factors and perceived organizational support on generation-y employees commitment: a case study of asian stanley international co. ltd.
Abstract:
This research aimed at investigating 1) organizational factors affecting employees
commitment to the organization and 2) perceived organizational support affecting employees
commitment to the organization.
Research samples were 420 employees working in the electronics industry in Pathumthani
province. Proportional stratified (divided upon organization department) and simple random
sampling were employed for the sampling method. Frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation,
Pearson Correlation Coefficient, and Enter Multiple Regression were used for data analysis.
The research results showed that organizational factors, consisting of task demand (β =
0.190), role demand (β= 0.179) and interpersonal demand (β= 0.409) affected generation-Yemployees
commitment to the organization at a 0.05 level of significance. Efficient prediction was
39%. The aspect of perceived organizational support, consisting of opportunity (β = 0.150), social
psychology (β= 0.222), operations (β = 0.218), and chance to develop in the organization (β =
0.226) affected generation-Y- employees commitment to the organization at a 0.05 level of
significance and efficient prediction was 60%. In addition, the organizational factors, consisting of
task demand (β = 0.190), role demand (β= 0.388), and interpersonal demand (β= 0.252) affected
generation-X- employees commitment to the organization at a 0.05 level of significance and
efficient prediction was 25%. Lastly, perceived organizational support consisting of social
psychology (β= 0.352) affected generation-X- employees commitment to the organization at a
0.05 level of significance and efficient prediction was 52%.
