Abstract:
To study sexual behavior of male elderly with ischemic heart disease and relationships between personal factors, severity of disease, sexual knowledge and sexual behavior of male elderly with ischemic heart disease. The subjects of this study were 120 male elderly with ischemic heart disease selected by simple random sampling technique. The tools were composed of the personal factors questionaire, the severity of disease assessment, the sexual knowledge test and the sexual behavior questionaire. The reliability of the sexual knowledge test and the sexual behavior questionaire coefficient were 0.78 and 0.76. The statistics used in this study were percentage, mean, standard deviation and Chi-square test. The results of this study were as follow: 1. The sexual behavior of male elderly with ischemic heart disease was in the same style. 2. There were no significant relationships between age, educational level, income, period of illness and sexual behavior of male elderly with ischemic heart disease at .05 level. 3. There was a significant relationship between severity of disease and non-sexual behavior type of male elderly with ischemic heart disease at .05 level. 4. There was no significant relationship between sexual knowledge and sexual behavior of male elderly with ischemic heart disease at .05 level.
