Abstract:
The study entitled Strategic Management and Return on Investment of the One Tambon One Product (OTOP) for ASEAN Economy Community (AEC) in the Three Southern Border Provinces (Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwas) aims to 1) find out the relationship between the perception level of ASEAN Economy Community (AEC) and their strategic management concept of those OTOP entrepreneurs in the three southern border provinces (Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwas), and 2) study the relationship between the strategic management concept and the return on the investment on the sale figure and the profit of those OTOP entrepreneurs in the three southern border provinces (Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwas), and 3) set up the forecast equation for the return on investment. The sample in this study are those 331 OTOP operating entrepreneurs in the three southern border provinces (Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwas).
It is revealed that
1. Holistically, the perception on ASEAN Economy Community (AEC) of those entrepreneurs in the three southern border provinces positively relates to the strategic management at the statistically significant level of 0.01 and the strategic management concept positively relates to the return on investment on the sale figure and the profit at the statistically significant level of 0.01
2. The forecast on the sale figure and strategic management factors of the OTOP entrepreneurs in the three southern border provinces (Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwas) analyzed through the Multiple Regression Analysis as well as the formation of the forecast equation show that R2 has the reliability index at 10.90%. To forecast the return on investment on the sale figure, two factors are found to be influential to the sale figure: planning and implementing based on the strategic plans respectively with the F value is the positive value for 13.312 at the statistically significant level of .001 as of the forecast equation: Y = 1.729 + .260P1 + .182P11 + (-.122) O6
3. The forecast of the return on investment of those OTOP entrepreneurs and the strategic management variable show that R2 has the reliability index at 25.20% in forecasting the return on investment. The influential factors to the return on investment on the profit are the strategic planning, the implementation based on the strategic plans, the evaluation, and the monitoring respectively with F value is the positive value for 21.945 at the statistically significant level
of .001 as of the forecast equation: Y = (.124) + .258P4 + .162P9 + .104O4 + .256O5 + .122CON6
