Abstract:
Studies the performance of child development committee in the 1994 regional outstanding child development center under the Community Development Department. The samples were 25 child development committees in 5 outstanding child development centers. The findings were as follow : The child development committee of 5 outstanding child development centers performed tasks assigned by the Community Development Department as follows 1) Every member of every child development committee visited the child attendants in the child development centers and gave regular advice whenever they were free from work ; 2) Every child development committee had systematic meeting and planning and consulted with community development workers every time before implementing their plans ; 3) Every child development committee provided monthly meeting with parents and local people ; 4) Every child development committee discussed their work in the monthly meeting and sent the minutes to the parents through their children ; 5) Every child development committee persuaded parents to enroll their children and to join the center activities by using posters, sending invitation letter, using verbal announcement, using village loudspeaker and / or home visits ; and 6) Every child development committee had the same problem solving strategy i.e., those who found the problem would try to solve it first before bringing it to the meeting. The child development committee of outstanding child development centers could performed efficiently and systematically. Moreover, each of them also used personal experiences, characteristics, status and personality to support the child development committee's work.
