A comparative study on student's achievement english subject entitled western culture between team-gamed-tournamentTGT learning and normal classroom learning for matthayomsuksa 3 students at kusuman 2 school network center
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to 1) develop a learning management plan of an english subject called Western culture by integrating team-game-tournament (TGT) learning in the normal lesson plan and 2) compare the students achievement between the experimental group, implementing the TGT learning, and non-experimental group under the normal classroom learning condition at a school network center in Aumpur Kusuman 2. This study was the quasi-experimental research. The samples of this study were 60 of matthayomsuksa 3 students studying Western culture in the second semester of 2014 at Naphiangsawangwitthyanukoon School. Both the experimental group and non experimental were group consisted of 30 students. The experimental group was taught by following the lesson plan of integrated TGT learning, whereas the normal group was taught by following the normal classroom lesson plan. The learning duration of the two groups was 12 hours. The research instruments were TGT lesson plans with the efficiency
E[subscript1]/E[subscript2] = 70.00/74.44, and the achievement tests, pretest and posttest, with the reliability at 0.913. The t-test statistical analysis was employed to analyze the statistical differences between the mean of the two groups. The result showed that the english learning achievement between the 2 groups of the matthayomsuksa 3 students at Naphiangsawangwitthyanukoon School was statistically significant at the .05 level.
