Abstract: การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์คือ เพื่อศึกษาภูมิปัญญาสมุนไพรพื้นบ้าน จากหมอพื้นบ้าน โดยศึกษา ข้อมูลทั่วไป บทบาทของหมอพื้นบ้าน โรค อาการเจ็บป่วย และวิธีการรักษาของหมอ พื้นบ้านที่อาศัยอยู่ใน จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด โดยเครื่องมือที่ใช้คือ แบบสัมภาษณ์โดยเก็บข้อมูลจากหมอ พื้นบ้านที่ปัจจุบันยังให้การรักษาและดูแลสุขภาพให้กับประชาชน พบว่า หมอพื้นบ้านที่อาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ดที่ให้การรักษาและดูแลสุขภาพกับ ประชาชนมีจํานวน 11 คน เหตุจูงใจสําคัญที่ทําให้มาเป็นหมอพื้นบ้าน คือ การที่มีบรรพบุรุษเป็นหมอ พื้นบ้าน ความรู้ที่ใช้ในการรักษาส่วนใหญ่จะบันทึกไว้ในความทรงจํา คนไข้ที่มารับการรักษามีทั้งคนที่ อาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่และจังหวัดใกล้เคียง ในการรักษาโรคหมอพื้นบ้านจะเริ่มจากการซักประวัติคนไข้ ร่วมกับการตรวจร่างกาย โดยจะใช้ศาสตร์พื้นบ้านของแต่ละบุคคล ในการรักษาหมอพื้นบ้านส่วนใหญ่ จะใช้สมุนไพรตํารับ ร่วมกับการใช้คาถา นอกจากนั้นหมอพื้นบ้านบางท่านจะมีข้อปฏิบัติพิเศษ ได้แก่ การถือศีล หมั่นทําบุญ และไม่ดื่มแอลกอฮอล์

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to study herbal folk wisdom in the province of Roi Et from folk healers to study the general information, folk healer’s role, diseases and symptoms, and the types of treatment by folk healers. Questionnaire was used as the research tool. The researchers focused on the folk healers who still treat people. The findings of this study there were 11 folk healers lived in the province of Roi Et. The important motivation to be the healer was their ancestor who also be the folk healers. The knowledge was mostly recorded in their memory. The patients lived in the province of Roi Et and also came from the nearby area. The treatment procedure would start with historical inquiry and then physical checking by the individual knowledge. Mostly, the folk healers would use herbal preparation accompany with spell. In addition, some healers had the special practices that consisted of observing religious precept, usually making merit, and do not drink.
