Abstract:
The objectives of this research are 1) to study the level of proactive personality, achievement goal orientation and career success of Electricity employee 2) to study relationships between the proactive personality and career success of employee 3) to study relationships between achievement goal orientation and career success of employee 4) to predict the career success by proactive personality and achievement goal orientation. The sample was 385 employees of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, Provincial Electricity Authority and Metropolitan Electricity Authority. This research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis.
The results revealed that 1) proactive personality, achievement goal orientation and career success were relatively high and employee career success was at much level 2) there was a positive relationship between proactive personality and career success with a statistical significance at the .01 level 3) there was a positive relationship between achievement goal orientation and career success with a statistical significance at the .01 level and 4) proactive personality and achievement goal orientation : task-based and other-based accounted for 41.8% of the variance in career success of employees.
