Abstract:
This study is aimed to study the opinion of academics, government officers and politicians on the origin, components, authority of the Election Commission. The hypothesis of the research is that the opinion of academics, government officials and politicians on the origin, components, authority of the Election Commission differ in response to the role, status, and interest of each group. The method employed in this research is a survey research using questionnaire as the measurement tool. Sample groups are taken by random. Random sampling are taken systematically. Data analysis is done by using chi-square and anova statistical methods, which renders the signification at 0.05. The result of the study shows that the opinion of academics, government officials and politicians towards the origin, components, and authority of the Election Commission do not differ. The reason for this is that each group expect to have an impartial Election Commission in supervising the electoral administration. As regards the indifference of the authority of the Election Commission, the reason for this is that the authority stated in the questionnaire is in general accepted by most countries and is regarded as the general standard of practice. Also it has function in reflecting the actual problems of election of Thai politics.
