Abstract:

The analysis framework is based on the concept of the role of the organization in charge of the production of this TV program, TV program, TV channel 11, as the governments media. In this study, the method of qualitative research is used to analyse the contents of this TV program from the recorded video tapes, broadcasted on channel 11. Research methods also include an in-depth interview of prominent people involved, the researchers participation in the production process and a study of research documents as well as printed matter. It was found that this TV program consists of six components: 1. the format, contents and presentation 2. the questions raised by the audience and the selection of the questions by the host of the TV program 3. the guest speakers 4. the host of the TV program 5. the audience, and 6. the process of the program production. These six components have been changed and developed since the foundation of the TV program. Later, however, it focused on more political issues and most of the guest speakers were politicians. The inside factors include 1. the organization responsible for the production of the TV program and 2. the status and the role of the Public Relations Department as well as the regulations TV channel 11 has to follow. Also, research findings indicated that the cooperation between a formal organization and a non-formal organization had met with little success, resulting from the problems of either administration or management, personnel, equipment and a tight budget. It was also found that control from political organizations still has an influence on the management an supervision of the governments media. Regarding the outside factors, it was found that they include 1. Political influence and the governments policies and 2. Communication culture of Thai society. The research finding also indicated that outside intervention from political factors that control the management of the producing organization has an influence on this TV program. Finally, it was found that the audience disapproved of the aggressive manner of the TV anchorman.
