Abstract:
The objectives of this research were : 1. to study opinion leadership, credibility, communication behavior of the monk, the amount of the message people received from the monk and the people's participation in Thammarukniveth Project. 2. to compare the difference in opinions of the people about the monk. 3. to investigate the relationship between opinion leadership, credibility, communication behavior of the monk, the amount of the message people received from the monk, and the people's participation in Thammarukniveth Project. 4. to find out the variables affected the public participation most. Questionnaires were used to collect the data from 585 samples which were composed of 165 residents, 400 visitors and 20 staff members and voluenteers, Frequency, percentage, mean, t-test, ANOVA Person's Product Moment Correlation Cofficient and Multiple Regression were used for the analysis of the data. SPSS+ program was employed for data precessing. The results of the research were as follows : 1. Opinion leadership, credibility and communicstion behavior of the monk was at the high level. The people received the message from the monk at the middle level but participated in Thammarukniveth Project at the lowest level. 2. Difference in demographic characteristics did not cause difference in opinions about opinion leadership, credibility, communication behavior of the monk, the amount the massage people received from the monk, and the people's participation in Thammarukniveth Project. 3. Opinion leadesship, credibility, communication behavior of the monk, the amount of the message people received from the monk correlated with the people's participation in Thammarukniveth Project. 4. The amount of the message people received from the monk, credibility, communication behavior of the monk and opinion leadership of the monk were variables influential to public participation respectively.
