Abstract:
The main objective of this anthropological study, the Child Socialization of Chinese Thai Woment in Bangkok Metropolis, is whether these mothers are successful in their children raising. By anthropological field work, 20 Chinese Thai women selected from various parts of Bangkok were interviewed in-depth, their surroundings observed and relevant literature solicited to be empirical data for the testing of stated hypotheses. 3 out of 5 hypotheses were supported by the solicited data, showing the influences of mother's high education, mother's high economic status and mother's high income level. For the method of raising children, mother utilized rational-democratic while father tended to strict measures. The thesis then concluded with useful recommendations, theoretically and practically.
