Effects of integrated teaching design projects in commercial design course by using Internet on the learning achievement of undergraduate Art Education students in the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University
Abstract:
To study the effects of integrated teaching design projects in commercial design course, by using Internet, on the learning achievement of undergraduate art education students in the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University. The population of this study were 39 third year undergraduate art education students in the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University who registered the 2709310 commercial design course on the first semester of 2000 academic year. The research instruments were 1) design project teaching plan, 2) virtual classroom on Internet, 3) one set of achievement test of knowledge for pretest and posttest, 4) one set of project evaluation form, and 5) four set of questionnaires concerning integrated teaching design projects by using Internet. The data were analyzed by using the t-test for the achievement test of knowledge, while mean and standard deviation for the project evaluation form and questionnaires. The research results were revealed 1) the learning achievement of undergraduate art education students after learning were high at the .05 level of significance. 2) Internet, as media for searching to for create work project, was at normal level 3) the art education students were satisfied and interested in the process of integrated teaching design projects by using Internet together with the regular teaching in classroom, especially with step of problem solving the art teaching activities in the future should integrate Internet in their instruction processes.
