Abstract:
The purpose of this posttest-only design research was to study effects of hypertension and diabetes mellitus screening service on comparing consuming rate and satisfaction score of clients in the village where the people participated in the hypertension and diabetes mellitus screening program and those in the village where there was no participation of people. Population of the study are people age 40 years and older. Cluster sampling was applied. Two villages with the target group of 263 and 267 were assigned as the experiment and the control group respectively. A two-day workshop using AIC technique (Appreciation-Influence-Control) was conducted in the experimental village for 21 village for 21 village representatives. A hypertension and diabetes mellitus screening service plan was set and then implemented by these representatives. Screening service in the control group was run by village health volunteers as traditionally perform by Hunkha Hospital. Chi-Square statistics was used to test consuming rate between the experiment and control village. The t-test for mean score of consumers' satisfaction was applied. The findings revealed that: 1. The consuming rate in village where the people participated in the hypertension and diabets mellitus screening program is higher than the village where there was no participation of people at the statistical significant level of .01 2. The satisfaction score of clients in village where the people participated in the hypertension and diabetes mellitus screening program is higher than the village where there was no participation of people at the statistical significant level of .01, either the overall or specific satisfaction namely: availability, accessibility, coordination, courtesy, information and quality.
