A Comparison of English Reading Comprehension Ability of Mattayomsuksa II Students by Using Reading Comprehension Package on The Wonderful ASEAN through KWL Plus Strategy and Conventional Method
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were as follows : to construct a Reading Package on The Wonderful ASEAN with the most efficient standard criterion at 80 /80, to compare the students English reading comprehension ability and students learning activeness between studying through KWL Plus strategy and conventional method, to compare their reading comprehension ability using the Reading Package before and after learning through KWL Plus strategy, and to compare students awareness to the ASEAN Community by using the Reading Package. The research samples were 70 students chosen by simple random sampling from Mattayomsuksa II students at Anuban Muang Chumphon Watsubannimit School. The instruments consisted of the reading package on The Wonderful ASEAN, the lesson plans, the reading comprehension test, the learning activeness assessment, and the Awareness questionnaire. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.
The research results were: The efficiency of a reading package on The Wonderful ASEAN had the efficiency of 85.89/85.94, the students English reading comprehension ability between learning through KWL Plus strategy and conventional method, the students learning activeness and awareness to ASEAN Community after using the Reading Package through KWL Plus strategy was higher than the conventional method at the significant level of 0.05
