Abstract:
The research aimed to study and compare the preparation for ASEAN Community and
examine the recommendations for preparation for the schools under Ubon Ratchathani Provincial
Administrative Organization. The population used in research was 411 teachers of the schools
affiliated to Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Organization in the academic year 2015. The research
instrument was a five-rating scale questionnaire of a confidence value equivalent to .83. Statistics
used were percentage, means, standard deviation, t-test, F-test and content analysis.
The research findings were as follows.
1. The teachers and administrator, who under study held that the preparation for the
ASEAN Community by the schools in the study was at a very good level.
2. The comparison of the opinions from teacher and administrator, who were different
in theposition and working experiences had no different opinions. The teacher and administrator,
who worked at different size schools held different views with statistical significance of .01
3. The recommendations were as follows: 1) the administrators should determined and
set up the goals and plans in a clearer manner to gain benefits at a maximum scale. 2) Schools
should organize continuous learning and teaching in all learning units. Contents on ASEAN
should be used while the class was underway. Importantly, the budget should be sufficient. 3) A
wide variety of learning activities should be conducted based on an in-depth information.
ASEAN-centered activities should be particularly held to promote and encourage the network to
share knowledge and learning between teachers and learners. 4) On community relation
activities, schools have continuous relations to keep communities informed. Schools should
also coordinate with the communities and disseminate knowledge on ASEAN. State and private
sectors should be established to organize an education for preparation for ASEAN Community.
Local communities should be allowed to take part in activities and play a role in preparation
activities.
