Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study the state and problems in operating Gymnastics Association of Thailand, and to compare the problems as perceived by Gymnastics Association administrators and Gymnastics Association member clubs. A questionnaire was sent to the Association Secretary and it was returned. The questionnaires were also sent to 11 Association administrators and 74 Association members, then 11 from Association administrators and 70 from Association member clubs, totally of 81 or 95.29 percent were returned. In order to get qualitative data, interview forms were sent to 74 coaches and 74 athletes, 148 in total; and 140 forms or 94.59 percent, 70 from coaches and 70 from athletes, were returned. The data were then analyzed in terms of percentages, means, and standard deviations. The t-test was applied to determine the significant differences at the .05 level. The findings were as follows: 1. The proceeding state of the Association as a whole was at the low level except for staff organizing which was at the high level. The low level problems in each area were: budgeting, reporting, co-ordinating, location and material, directing, planning and organizing. 2. Problems of the Association in general were at the high level and they were the areas of budgeting, planning, organizing, staff organizing, co-ordinating and reporting. The two areas which were at the low level were location and material and directing. 3. Proceeding problems of the Association, compared between the Association administrators and members, were statistically significantly different at the .05 level.
