Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to develop the guidance activity based on contemplative education to enhance the emotional quotient of Matthayomsuksa 3 students and 2) to compare the emotional quotient of Matthayomsuksa 3 students between before and after attending guidance activity based on contemplative education. The sample included 16 Matthyomsuksa 3 students from Wat Thabunturngtham School in Nontaburi Province. Data was statistically analyzed in percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.
The findings revealed as follows:
1. The guidance activity based on contemplative education to enhance the emotional quotient of Matthayomsuksa 3 students delineated 5 components: (1) principle/concept (2) limitations (3) objectives (4) instructional process and (5) learning outcomes. The following steps were adopted for instruction: preparation, self-realization, fulfillment, reflection, decoration, and follows in order to enhance the students emotional quotient in 3 aspects i.e. competency, virtue, and happiness.
2. After attending the guidance activity based on contemplative education, the emotional quotient of Matthayomsuksa 3 students was significantly higher than the previous one at .01 level.
